As we move into 2026, we want to take the opportunity to clearly explain the next stage in the evolution of Parkhurst Opticians — and how it builds directly on the progress made throughout 2025.

If you haven’t already read it, our 2025 round-up sets the context for many of the changes now taking shape:

From a Year of Foundations to a Year of Clarity

Parkhurst Opticians Name Change: Our Registered and Trading Names

Throughout 2025, much of our focus was on laying strong foundations for the future of Parkhurst Opticians.

This included practice moves and improvements across the group, refining how our clinics operate day to day, investing in advanced diagnostic technology such as OCT scanning, expanding services, welcoming new members of the team, and continuing our long-standing commitment to community and charitable work.

Some of these changes were highly visible — new spaces, new services, new faces — while others happened quietly behind the scenes, improving how we care for patients and how our practices run.

Alongside this progress, there was also a wider period of reflection, asking whether our name still fully represented the Parkhurst business of today.

The Parkhurst Opticians name change reflects how the business has naturally evolved over recent years. While our name is changing to Parkhurst and Co Styling Opticians, the values, people, and clinical standards behind Parkhurst Opticians remain exactly the same. The updated name simply gives a clearer picture of the wider care, expertise, and personalised approach that patients already experience in our practices.

Why Our Name Is Evolving

Parkhurst Opticians has grown well beyond what many people think of as a traditional opticians.

Today, our practices provide:

  • Advanced diagnostic eye care and detailed OCT imaging

  • Longer, more in-depth clinical appointments

  • A preventative and proactive approach to eye health

  • A broader view of health and wellbeing

  • Care delivered by a wider, multidisciplinary team

As our services evolved, it became clear that while the Parkhurst name remains trusted and well established, the word “Opticians” alone no longer fully reflects the breadth of care we provide.

The name Parkhurst and Co Styling Opticians better captures:

  • A collaborative, team-led approach

  • A modern independent healthcare business

  • The balance of clinical expertise and personalised eyewear styling

  • Care that extends beyond eyesight alone

This change is about describing more accurately what we already do, not changing who we are.

One Business, the Same History

It’s important to be very clear:

Parkhurst Opticians and Parkhurst and Co Styling Opticians are the same business.

There has been no change in ownership, no change in the people delivering your care, and no change in our values or clinical standards.

Patients will continue to attend the same practices, see the same familiar faces, and receive the same personalised care they trust.

The name change is about clarity, not reinvention.

Our Registered Name and Trading Names

For clarity and transparency, our registered company name remains unchanged.

A.S. Parkhurst Opticians Ltd is the legal entity under which our practices operate.

We trade as Parkhurst Opticians and Parkhurst and Co Styling Opticians.

This means:

  • Your contracts, clinical records, warranties, and aftercare arrangements remain exactly the same

  • There is no change to the business behind the name

  • Only our public-facing branding is evolving to better reflect the breadth of care we now provide

Using both names during the transition helps ensure continuity for patients while clearly linking our long-established history with the Parkhurst and Co Styling Opticians name.

Why the Transition Started in 2025

During 2025, our Thorne practice became the first to adopt the updated name Parkhurst and Co. Styling Opticians.

This was a deliberate and carefully planned step, allowing us to introduce the new identity in a measured way and ensure communication remained clear for patients.

A gradual transition helps us to:

  • Reduce confusion online and in search results

  • Maintain continuity for existing patients

  • Ensure signage, systems, and patient information remain consistent

  • Give patients time to become familiar with the updated name

As a result, you may continue to see both names used together throughout 2026, particularly online.

What to Expect During 2026

Over the course of 2026, we’ll continue to share information about the transition from Parkhurst Opticians to Parkhurst and Co Styling Opticians.

This will be a phased process rather than a single announcement, and we’ll explain what’s happening and why at each stage.

What will remain the same:

  • The people you know and trust

  • The practices you visit

  • Your care, records, warranties, and aftercare

  • The standard of care you expect from Parkhurst

What will become clearer is how our name reflects the modern Parkhurst experience you already receive.

Looking Forward

If 2025 was about progress and preparation, then 2026 is about clarity and confidence.

We are proud of the history behind Parkhurst Opticians and equally excited about the future of Parkhurst and Co Styling Opticians. Both names represent the same journey — one built on independent care, long-term relationships, and doing things properly.

Thank you for being part of that journey, and for your continued trust as we take this next step together you for being part of that journey, and for your continued trust as we take this next step together.
