Eye Examinations at Parkhurst and Co.
More than just a sight test
Our comprehensive eye exams check not only your vision but also your overall eye health. Using advanced technology, we screen for conditions like glaucoma, macular degeneration, and cataracts – often before symptoms appear.
Your optometrist will assess your prescription, discuss your visual needs, and provide clear, personalised advice to keep your eyes healthy and your vision sharp.

Contact Lens Assessments
Comfortable, clear vision without glasses
Whether you’re new to contact lenses or a long-time wearer, our expert assessments ensure the perfect fit for your eyes and lifestyle. We offer a wide range of lens types, including daily, monthly, toric (for astigmatism), and multifocal options.
Your optometrist will check the health of your eyes, take precise measurements, and provide advice on the best lenses for comfort, clarity, and convenience.
Training and aftercare are included to help you wear your lenses with confidence.

Visual Stress Assessments
Support for reading discomfort and visual fatigue
If you or your child experience headaches, eye strain, or words that seem to move or blur when reading, it could be Visual Stress.
Our specialist assessment identifies signs of Visual Stress and, where appropriate, recommends precision-coloured lenses to ease symptoms and improve reading comfort.
This is not a test for dyslexia, but it can support those with reading difficulties by reducing visual distortions and enhancing focus.

Myopia Control
Helping to protect your child’s long-term vision
Myopia (short-sightedness) is becoming increasingly common in children and can worsen as they grow. At Parkhurst and Co., we offer proven myopia control solutions to help slow its progression and reduce future eye health risks.
We use specialist lenses such as MiYOSMART glasses and soft myopia control contact lenses, tailored to your child’s needs.
Early intervention makes a difference—book a consultation to find out how we can help safeguard your child’s vision.

OCT Scanning
A detailed look beneath the surface
OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography) is a state-of-the-art scan that allows us to see the layers of your retina in incredible detail — much like an ultrasound for your eyes.
It helps detect early signs of conditions such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic eye disease – often before you notice any symptoms.
Quick, non-invasive, and completely painless, OCT gives us a clearer picture of your eye health so we can protect your vision for the future.

Orthokeratology (Ortho-K)
Clear vision – while you sleep
Orthokeratology, or Ortho-K, is a non-surgical treatment that gently reshapes the front surface of the eye overnight using specially designed contact lenses. Simply wear the lenses while you sleep, and enjoy clear vision all day without the need for glasses or daytime contact lenses.
Ortho-K is ideal for active lifestyles and is also a proven method of myopia control in children and teenagers, helping to slow the progression of short-sightedness.
It’s safe, reversible, and life-changing for many of our patients.

Dry Eye Assessments
Relief from sore, gritty or watery eyes
Dry Eye Syndrome is a common condition that can cause discomfort, blurred vision, and a gritty, burning or watery sensation. At Parkhurst and Co., we offer specialist Dry Eye assessments to get to the root of the problem.
We’ll examine the quality of your tear film, eyelid health, and gland function using advanced diagnostic tools. From there, we’ll create a personalised treatment plan that may include eye drops, heat therapy, lid hygiene, or dietary advice.
Comfortable eyes start with expert care.
