Terms & Conditions - the basics

At Parkhurst Opticians, we understand how important good vision is – and we also know that spreading the cost of your glasses or contact lenses can help reduce financial worry.

That’s why we offer flexible payment plans of up to 11 months on glasses and contact lenses when paying by Direct Debit.

Terms and Conditions – Direct Debit Payment Plans

General Conditions

  • Acceptance onto a Direct Debit plan is subject to a suitable viability score and is at the discretion of Parkhurst and Co.

  • A 50% deposit is required before spectacles can be ordered.

  • The Direct Debit application must be completed at the time of ordering to avoid delays in collection.

  • Direct Debit payment terms are available over 3 months, 6 months, or up to 11 months.

  • No interest is charged on this scheme.

  • This scheme cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotional offer.

  • Parkhurst Opticians reserves the right to withdraw this scheme at any time for new customers. Existing Direct Debits will be honoured.

Defaults and Missed Payments

  • If a payment is missed, it must be settled immediately in person at the branch where the spectacles were collected.

  • If payments are returned unpaid, we will inform you promptly and request immediate payment of the missed instalment.

  • If two consecutive payments are missed, the Direct Debit will be cancelled, and the full remaining balance will become payable immediately.

  • If the account remains in default, a professional debt collection agency will be instructed to recover the outstanding balance. Additional charges may apply.

Contact Lens Direct Debit Plans

  • When setting up a contact lens Direct Debit, the first three months’ supply will be charged in full at the outset.

  • This ensures the next three months of lenses are pre-paid and available as needed.

  • If you wish to cancel your contact lens plan, you must notify us in advance.

  • We will confirm your final Direct Debit date based on the remaining balance for lenses already supplied.

Multiple Direct Debits

  • A second spectacle Direct Debit may be permitted only if fewer than two months remain on the first agreement and no payments have been missed.

  • Where Direct Debits are required for different individuals using the same account, written consent from the account holder is required.
